Description (excerpt)

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Logistics Management Division, Distribution Management Division, Supply Chain Integration Branch, is conducting market research to identify and assess industry capabilities to provide nationwide disposal services for excess, expired, damaged, contaminated, deteriorated, or otherwise unusable emergency response commodities. The anticipated requirement is for services throughout the Continental United States (CONUS), including the 48 contiguous states and the District of Columbia. FEMA is also seeking market research information regarding respondents’ potential capability to support locations outside the continental United States, including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, and other U.S. territories or possessions, should such support be required in the future. The information collected will be used to support contingency planning, requirements development, and operational readiness assessments related to mass sheltering operations during natural disasters, humanitarian assistance, and other emergency response scenarios. Please see attachment for details.
